Ghosted by H. L. Burke

Lazarus visits Harper because he isn't doing well with his assignment. Harper admits that he is struggling, but insists that it is not due to his not trying. Lazarus takes pity on him and sends him away while he takes on the assignment himself.

But Lazarus gets a surprise and learns why Harper was having such a difficult time.

This is a short story and to say any more would be to spoil it. In short, go get it and read it for yourself and take some pleasure in doing so, as it is a really good story.

Although there's only a handful of characters, it has more than enough body to satisfy readers.
"headquarters isn’t happy with your performance. Like I said, they gave you an easy assignment."
